MAI PO
Mai Po Nature Reserve is situated in the northwest New Territories near Yuen Long. The mud flats and marshes are internationally important for the number and variety of birds that occur there during winter and on spring and autumn migration. My photobook Mai Po: The Seasons - A Photographic Essay depicts the seasonal variation in the flora and fauna and the changes that occur there during a typical year.
The images in this gallery supplement those in the photobook.

TAI O
Tai O lies on the northwestern coast of Lantau Island and is famous for its stilt houses built in tidal creeks. Once an important fishing village and trading port - exporting salt from its local salt pans to mainland China - it still retains a lot of its traditional character. It is also of interest from a natural history perspective as the countryside surrounding the town consists of mangroves, fish ponds, disused salt pans and coastal mangrove.
